As technology today is advancing, people of the world are learning many techniques to expand their knowledge of the internet and its shortcuts. The internet today is world wide, connecting many people from around the world. Connecting people from across the country, connecting, communicating with technology. The internet sometimes has its down sides. Many people can be tracked by their i.p address if they have committed a terrible crime. Also, a lot of people abuse the internet and overtime, they pay for their misdoings.

         By doing this project, I have reached the goal of being Connected to the World. I feel like I've analyzed and evaluated a lot of global issues form multiple perspectives. I know more about world events. I have also become more culturally aware. I created stories about our generation, my goals, and a global event that happened. The digital story I am working on right now about the earthquake in Chile is helping me become more knowledgeable about Chile.

    My dreams and aspirations for the future are to be successful in my life. I am going to go to college. I plan on going for extended years of college to learn everything and anything there is to know about Speech Therapy. I have plans and also back-up plans if some things don't work out. I want to be somewhere in Hollywood, either on broadway,televisions shows, or movies, or in the music industry composing music or singing. I would also love to be a speech therapist. I love working with kids, and I would love to help them out. The kids are our future, and they need a lot of help. It feels good to know that you have accomplished something great and helped a lot of people in their lives.  I'm going to be helping kids with their speech problems like stuttering. In the future, I want to live in a nice apartment in Manhattan. The city is the place to be. I want to be making a good amount of money, and I feel that speech therapy would be the right path for me. But at the same time, music and acting has always been my dream. Music is my passion and I also have a new passion for acting. I am going to follow my dreams, and hope for the best. But hey!.. Anything is possible! :D

Digital Story 3 Topic & narrative

For my next Digital Story, my topic is going to be about the Earthquake that happened in Chile on February 27, 2010. It occurred at 3:34 a.m. local time. More than 2 million people were affected by this earthquake, and more than 300 people were killed. A 15-story high rise near the southern city of Concepcion collapsed; the country's major north-south highway was severed at multiple points; and the capital city's airport was closed after its terminal sustained major damage. Doing this topic for my digital story will help me become more aware of world events and global dynamics. 


Narrative from a woman who lives in Chile:
        Ay Dios Mio! There was an earthquake in my hometown, Chile on February 27. It happened at around 3:30 in the morning. I was sleeping in my bedroom, when i felt the house start to shake. I was terrified, and I didn't know what to do! My kids ran to my bedroom when they started to feel the house shake too, and we just hid in our basement. But as the earthquake started to get worse, we ran outside and there was ruckus! Everybody was running like crazy, people were crying, people were screaming, IT WAS HECTIC! I was panicking, myself. It was a good thing we left our house because about 5 minutes later, it was destroyed. It fell apart and collapsed. It was horrible. We had so many valuable things in there, but I guess we'll never get them back. The main thing thats important is that my kids are safe. My daughter got hurt in her foot though when she by accidentally stepped on glass. Her foot wouldn't stop bleeding, but thank goodness the paramedics came as fast as they could. Her foot still hurts now, but its all better. She just has a huge scar. She will be fine. We are going to stay at my mother's house for now since our house was destroyed. I will pray that everything will get better soon.

Graduate Portfolio Reflection - Story 1

        Our project relates to our school's Graduate Portfolio in many ways. Our project talks about the 21st century, and how our generation has changed through technology, fashion, being culturally aware, and many more.
        The CSI Graduate Portfolio matches the "Effective Users of Technology" portion in my project. In my project, I put pictures of iPods, laptops, phones, computers, etc to show that nowadays, every single person uses technology throughout their day more and more. You see people anywhere and everywhere texting or talking on the phone. Also, some people may be listening to their iPods We are all effective users of technology today.  I showed how people today proficiently use essential computer and communications technologies. I also showed how people use technologies to communicate and work across national and regional boundaries.

        Our generation is identified as change and a more advanced generation. Our generation is more advanced in technology than it was 20 years ago.I feel that our generation is mostly identified by the usage of technology. Everywhere you look, you'll see people either on their laptops, texting, jamming to their iPods, talking on the phone, tweeting, or facebooking. In our generation, everybody has iPods now also. Almost everybody in the world has a facebook, even some 7th graders. It's crazy! Facebook is a way of communicating with friends and family. Twitter is a way of following celebrities. There's always a trending topic that people update their status about. Some people either have iPod nano's, iPod touch, or iTouch. Ipods allow people to listen to music anytime anywhere. About 10 years ago, people used to listen to "walkmans" or CD players. Everybody finds technology to be an easier way of communicating and doing such so. 
         Our generation also has changed with the different styles of fashion. Nowadays, you see people wearing skinny jeans, no more boot-cut jeans. A lot of people wear cardigans now, and outfits are simple and casual. Also, animal print on clothing has come into style. Even on some sneakers! A lot of accessories also have changed. Girls wear really long necklaces. Glasses have also changed. A few years ago, the style of glasses was the simple circular silver frame. But now they are square framed, with different colors and different kind of prints. Our style of shoes has also changed such as shoes like uggs, converses, and VANS. As technology is changing, our generation is advancing.
